June 29 - Hymn Sing at the Rectory

Who: All of the Grace Parish

What: Hymn Sing -- request any hymn from any tradition and we'll try to sing it!

When: June 29 at 6:30 p.m.

Where: The rectory

Why: Because it's long overdue and will be a nice "going away" gathering for Elaine

There is an informal gathering with Rev. Dorothy at the rectory being planned and we hope all interested Grace parishioners will attend. Elaine will set-up a keyboard and furnish hymnals from the many traditions in her collection. You're welcome to bring any hymnals you may have on hand. All you have to do is come and sing your heart out!

You can't have a church gathering without food (surely there's a rubric for it somewhere in the BCP), so let's pitch in and bring items so that a simple meal can also be shared along with the musical frivolity.  We're thinking sandwich-making items, chips, cookies, tea, bottled water, etc.  Think simple and easy unless you're dying to make that great potato salad recipe from your grandmother's cookbook!

If you think you'd like to attend, please RSVP to Elaine (econger@gracechurchparistn.org) by Wednesday the 28th along with the item you'd like to bring. Along with your food item, also make a list of your favorite hymns, and she can be prepared with making sure lyrics are provided in case there are not enough hymnals to go around.

Come eat, drink, and sing merrily!
