Welcome to Grace Episcopal Church this morning! All are welome to join us in worship. We’re continuing with our new practice of online worship on Sundays as we work diligently to slow the spread of the coronavirus and lovingly protect each other and our community. We look forward to the day when we can once again throw open the red doors at Grace Episcopal Church and welcome everyone in person once again.
For preschool through elementary aged children, at the bottom of this page are two videos sharing two different Godly Play versions of today’s gospel text.

Come Ye Faithful, Raise the Strain
1. Come, ye faithful, raise the strain
of triumphant gladness!
God hath brought his Israel
into joy from sadness:
loosed from Pharaoh’s bitter yoke
Jacob’s sons and daughters,
led them with unmoistened foot
through the Red Sea waters.
2. ‘Tis the spring of souls today:
Christ hath burst his prison,
and from three days’ sleep in death
as a sun hath risen;
all the winter of our sins,
long and dark, is flying
from his light, to whom we give
laud and praise undying.
3. Now the queen of seasons, bright
with the day of splendor,
with the royal feast of feasts,
comes its joy to render;
comes to glad Jerusalem,
who with true affection
welcomes in unwearied strains
Jesus’ resurrection.
4. Neither might the gates of death,
nor the tomb’s dark portal,
nor the watchers, nor the seal
hold thee as a mortal:
but today amidst thine own
thou didst stand, bestowing
that thy peace which evermore
passeth human knowing.

Hymn 432: O Praise Ye the Lord!
1. O praise ye the Lord! Praise him in the height;
Rejoice in his word, ye angels of light;
Ye heavens adore him by whom ye were made,
And worship before him, in brightness arrayed.
2. O praise ye the Lord! Praise him upon earth,
In tuneful accord, all ye of new birth;
Praise him who hath brought you his grace from above,
Praise him who hath taught you to sing of his love.
3. O praise ye the Lord! All things that give sound;
Each jubilant chord re-echo around;
Loud organs, his glory forth tell in deep tone,
And sweet harp, the story of what he hath done.
4. O praise ye the Lord! Thanksgiving and song
To him be outpoured all ages along!
For love in creation, for heaven restored,
For grace of salvation, O praise ye the Lord!

Sermon for Easter 3
Father Will’s Post-sermon Aside
Nicene Creed
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Prayers of the People
Hymn 208: The Strife is O’er
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
The strife is o’er the battle done
The victory of life is won
The song of triumph has begun
Alleluia!
The powers of death have done their worst
But Christ their legions hath dispersed
Let shout of holy joy outburst
Alleluia!
He closed the yawning gates of hell
The bars of heaven’s high portals fell
Let hymns of praise his triumphs tell
Alleluia!
Lord! by the stripes which wounded thee
From death’s dread sting thy servants free
That we may live and sing to thee
Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
