May 2020 has been an important  month in the lives of three exemplary young men of Grace Church. Wish them all the best as they continue their careers.

While the nature of the end of their college courses was unexpected and unprecedented,  the future for all three of our Grace Church graduates is bright and powerful.  Grace Church extends heartfelt congratulations to all three graduates.

Alex Watkins, son of John and Leigh and brother to Austin, graduated Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Accountancy from The University of Mississippi on May 9th!   Alex was a member of and completed all requirements in The Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors Program there at Ole Miss. He was a member of Delta Psi Fraternity, The Ole Miss Choir, Tutored in the Math Lab and volunteered with Leap Frog (an after school enrichment program).  Alex will continue his education at Ole Miss this next year pursuing his Masters in Taxation and Data Analytics and then start his career with KPMG Accounting firm in Nashville in 2021.

During his time at Rhodes, he became a leader in campus life, student government, and community service. In student life, he became the Vice-Commissioner of the Allocations & Student Organizations Commission where he oversaw the creation of numerous student organizations. He was also selected as a Summer Service Fellow where he worked at BLDG Memphis to sustainably develop neighborhoods in Memphis. This year, he was the unanimous recipient of Thomas M. Garrot Award in Political Economy.

John Aaron Evans, known as “Theo” to his classmates, graduated with an online ceremony from The University of the South, Sewanee on Mother’s Day.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in French,  completing his course of studies with high honors.   He also had a heavy emphasis in chemistry and biology Departments.  Sewanee plans an in person ceremony on the mountain in May 2021.

We are so proud of these young men!
