As a church family we gather in joy and celebration and at times of sadness and comfort. Grace Church has long been blessed by Father Will Holt.
Recently he transitioned to hospice care due to terminal colon cancer.
Yesterday, Reverend William Holt passed away. He was in his home and surrounded by love with his wife, Pat, sons, Chris and Nathan, and daughter Allison near.Pat wanted us to know that the end of his life was peaceful and that they were grateful for the love of Grace Church. There are no immediate plans for services at this time. We will share those details as they are available.
We are, as a church formulating plans to honor one who has meant so much to all of us. We are also making plans to support his family during this time. Canon Sharon Alexander and Bishop Phoebe Roaf are both aware of Fr. Will’s passing and have responded with great support and love for our church.
Please know that our first in-person worship will be on the first day of Lent. This is Ash Wednesday on 2/17/21. Father Bill Burks will be in attendance for that service. The service will begin at 6:30 PM.
Our first Sunday in-person worship will be on 2/21/21. Canon Sharon Alexander will be coming that Sunday to be with us.
This Sunday’s worship service will be online with a sermon from Mother Dorothy Hartzog.
We are also planning to hold our annual meeting on Sunday, February 28, 2021. This will be a very brief annual meeting immediately following worship service with Rev. Bill Burks on that day.
When we resume in-person worship, we will continue to wear masks and observe social distancing. Masks will be available for anyone who needs one.
Thank you all.
May the peace of the Lord be with you.
Sincerely,
Pamela Evans
Senior Warden
