Our Outreach Ministries: Our Faith in Action
We seek to love and serve God, and we seek to love and serve our neighbors, near and far.
The people of Grace Church volunteer and serve in countless ways throughout Paris, Henry County, and West Tennessee. Though the vast majority of their work is not formally “connected” with Grace, they will tell you that this work is motivated, energized, and revitalized by their life as part of this parish community.
Grace Church’s chapter of the international religious order of the Daughters of the King is committed to prayer and service. The Daughters of the King are particularly committed to daily prayer for the concerns of the congregation and community. Prayer request cards are located in the pew racks and can be dropped in the offering plate, passed to the ushers, or dropped into the locked box in Ketchum Hall. All prayer requests are held in strict confidentiality.
Grace’s Ketchum Hall provides excellent meeting and entertainment space for churches, youth groups, civic clubs and other non-profit organizations. Ketchum Hall is frequently used for dinner events, fund raisers, and lunch meetings. Its central location downtown, ease of access, full-sized kitchen, and easily configurable space help ensure its continued popularity. (Contact the church office (email or 731-642-1721) for more information on reserving Ketchum Hall.)
Grace Church contributes hours and funding to many other outreach efforts across our local community, such as the Damascus Road shelters, Project Help, Helping Hand, and the Paris-Henry County Food Bank. We’ve assisted this past year with The Shed’s “school backpacks” program which gets much-needed school supplies into local classrooms, supported the Threads of Hope mission through a pop-up Christmas sale, supported the community-wide Thanksgiving Meal, and we support the Paris-Henry County Ministerial Association’s annual Christmas Basket program … just to name a few.
Our work is not limited to our local area. We support the international relief efforts of Episcopal Relief and Development as well as our diocese’s hands-on, on-site relief efforts in Haiti.
